This afternoon we were lucky enough to have a virtual visit with author Richard O’Neill, who has received a National Literacy Hero award and who also wrote one of our favourite stories – Ossiri and the Bala Mengro.
The children had lots of interesting questions and Richard told us about his family, hobbies and way of life growing up in the traveller community.
We loved hearing a new story and joining in with a song and dance that Richard taught us about the Bala Mengro!
