Another week has flown by, where does the time go?!

In Maths this week we’ve enjoyed exploring the mass and weight of objects and using measuring scales to help us measure in grams and kilograms. We’ve estimated, measured and read different scales to help us and used ‘lighter than’ and ‘heavier than’ to compare different objects. We found out yesterday that 1kg is the same as 1000g and we investigated different ways we could make 1 kg such as 500g + 500g.

We’ve been focusing on some sentence structures this week. We’re working on using our lovely joined up handwriting and using words called conjunctions (‘so’, ‘or’, ‘but’) to help us extend our sentences.

Thank you for sharing your ongoing home learning projects with us. It has been great seeing and hearing about so many of your boat investigations!

We got muddy in PE this week using skills to help us dodge, twist, turn and maneuver with rugby balls with Mr Senior and then playing different instruments altogether in Music with Mr Baker and learning about how to write and show music patterns written down.

In art we’ve been thinking about what we see in nature. In the past we talked about different shapes in nature and have created some fantastic work. We’ve explored how we can often see symmetry in nature and whether we can see this with animals’ faces such as owls which we have had a go at ourselves.

Some of our wonderful owl pictures where we looked at symmetry.

Hope you have a lovely weekend, see you next week! Miss Mansell
