It was so nice to see you all on Google Meet on Friday! You could probably tell it was my first time leading a session like that – I still have loads to learn and hopefully will get a bit slicker with practice! Next time I will try and make sure you can see all of my face! 😄 You all did brilliantly at muting and unmuting the microphone and taking turns to say things – well done, everyone.
For our live phonics lesson on Monday please have ready your whiteboards, pens and something to rub out with – a small piece of felt or fabric is ideal. It may also be useful to have a copy of the phoneme code handy if you can – you may have had one in your pack or there should be a mini version in your reading diaries.
We are gradually adding each new alternative sound to the basic code in the classroom so the children can start to use the advanced code as well with a bit of support.
If for any reason the technology side of things doesn’t go to plan we will continue to include the link to the YouTube phonic lessons on the blog so you can still access the learning each day.
Last of all congratulations on completing your first week of home learning – it was all a bit sudden but what a lot of super work you have done. Thank you for all your pictures and messages so far – we think you are doing an amazing job!
Thank you for everything Mrs Huelin, I can’t seem to find the phoneme grid, the only grids in the reading diary are the basic and the advanced code??
Those are the ones – I’ll add a picture into the blog to clarify! Thank you 😊
Thank you!
You are doing amazing with the last minute changes. Zephy will really try to pop on to any video chat she can!
Thank you very much, it’s lovely to hear this and I can’t wait to see Zephy again for phonics tomorrow. Fingers crossed that everything goes to plan! 🤞🤞
Thanks so much for all this great provision. It really helped Flora to see her friends and teacher this week. She misses everyone so much…Also so helpful to have the photos of other home learners with their work. This has been a good motivator, which helped us to catch up! Cant wait to join in tomorrow 🙂
Thank you for the feedback, and I’m so pleased the new tweaks to home learning are helpful! We miss Flora too – looking forward to seeing her tomorrow for phonics 😊
