Hi Grayling 1 and apologies for the cancellations yesterday! Let’s keep our fingers crossed that everything works today and all our live sessions run smoothly… the plan is to be back to normal with literacy at 9, phonics at 11 and an afternoon catch-up session at 1:45 🙂
We hope you can join us but if not the lessons are below. Please scroll down to begin a new geography unit for this half term.
Literacy
Look at the cover of this gorgeous book by Julia Donaldlson. What can you see? If the animals could speak what might they say? What might they be thinking? Download the PDF and add your ideas into the speech and thought bubbles. If you don’t want to print it out, draw the animals in your red book with speech or thought bubbles.
Phonics
If you can’t join in with our live session at 11 then please watch Lesson 32 of the Year 1 Spring Term Lessons. We will be learning how the letter u can make the short oo sound as in pudding.

Geography
Welcome to our first lesson on our new unit called the Oceans and Seas. Today, we will be learning about the 5 oceans on our earth and the location of them in relation to the 7 continents. We will be ordering them in size and discussing why the oceans are always in motion. In this lesson you will need a pencil, a piece of paper or an exercise book and your wonderful brain. Watch the lesson here:

Remind yourself of the oceans with a song!
You might like to use this colouring and labelling sheet to help you remember the oceans. You could colour it in or just talk about where each ocean is and check your answers on the second page.
