On Thursday we will be taking part in the wildflower project with Miles King from People Need Nature. Each class in Year 1 are collecting seeds and cuttings from different wildflowers to propagate, grow and plant back on the Great Field next year.

In Grayling 1 we will be collecting cowslip seeds. In years to come it will be amazing to see these beautiful and increasingly rare flowers right on our doorstep and know that we planted them!

Miles will also take us on a walk to find out more about the wildflowers in our local area.

We would like the children to wear own clothes for the trip – it is important that they wear long trousers/jeans or leggings as we will be walking through long grass, and footwear such as old trainers or wellies as it could be muddy in places – no sandals please!

Please bring a small backpack to carry your water bottle and snack. You could pack a thin ‘bag for life’ to sit on as well if you like!

Remember to apply sunscreen before coming into school and to bring a sun hat! 🤞☀️🙂
