This week we have been learning about the Parthenon and why it is such a special building.

Sadly, the Parthenon was partly destroyed during a war in 1687. Have a look at our drawings of how this amazing temple would have looked when it was first built!

  1. Daisy came home and told us about The Parthenon today, and remembered the goddess Athena, we have done some research on google and found out The Parthenon has been a temple, church and a mosque throughout its lifetime.

  2. JJ loved learning about The Parthenon and Athena. Our research helped us to find out that there have been two Parthenon. The first one was destroyed in a war and what we know to the be the Parthenon was built on top of it. Thank you Mrs Huelin for encouraging JJ to find out about something new ☺️

  3. Flora has been telling me all about the Parthenon, its destruction, Athena and Poseidon. We have a Mr. Men book about Greek history and she was excited to see the Gods and the Parthenon in there. She’s inspired me, and Grandma to find out more πŸ™‚
