Hi there Grayling 1 – hope to see you at 9 for maths and at 11 for phonics. If you are unable to join the live lessons please see the activities below and keep scrolling down for a fun dance lesson for today’s PE! Don’t forget there is no afternoon meet this afternoon.

Maths

Telling Time to the Half Hour

Look at the In Focus task below. Tell your learning partner what time is showing on Emma’s clock. Is the time in the evening or in the morning? How do we know?

Now have a look at Ravi’s clock. What is the difference? My friend says they think that Ravi’s clock must be upside down – do you think they are correct? Discuss this with your learning partner.

Now look at the Let’s Learn below. It might be helpful to have a paper circle to investigate making half!

What have you noticed about the number the minute hand is pointing at? What have you noticed about the hour hand? Has it stayed in the same place? Why might it have moved? Now look at Let’s Learn 3 which involves identifying the time in order.

Now have a go at the Guided Practice questions. Remember to consider if the activities are likely to be happening in the morning, afternoon or evening.

In your workbook complete pages 105 – 108. If you want a further challenge have a go at the Maths Challenge Below. Adults – There are some great ideas for asking questions too.

PE

The BBC have produced a lovely dance lesson called Let’s Move with the voice of Mr. Tumble. It is based on our book for the week ‘The Snail and the Whale.’

You can listen and join in with the first lesson. You will need to log in to the BBC site. It just needs an email and password. Perhaps your parents or siblings can join in when it is time to be whales or icebergs. Enjoy!
