We have had a busy week this week, yesterday we spent time learning about and reflecting upon the reasons behind Remembrance Day and the meaning of poppies too. We explored some of the different people who were in the First World War and those people around the world who helped us. You might want to watch this animation  about the war from Cbeebies which we watched to help us reflect and think about how these soldiers might have been feeling heading off to war. ‘Poppies’ is a BBC Children’s remembrance animation which shows how The Great War would have been experienced by the animal inhabitants of a WW1 battlefield.

On Tuesday, we visited Shire Hall and had an AMAZING time learning all about the Victorian era! Firstly, a massive thank you to the helpers who joined us on our trip, it helped make our day as great as it was! We learnt all about the boy Harry Parker and what Shire Hall had been used for in the past, we were able to explore the interesting and preserved cells below and pretended to be in the docks in the courtroom, just like Harry Parker did! We even had time to make some Victorian style peg dolls. The action packed day definitely wore us all out! Here are some pictures from our trip:

Looking forward to our week ahead and to Children in Need next Friday. Have a wonderful weekend, hopefully the sun will be shining, Miss Mansell.
